To herald International Women’s Day, Mid-Day, the morning daily Indian compact newspaper from Jagran Prakashan Ltd came out with the second edition of the Mid-Day Most Powerful Women Awards at the Orchid Ecotel. The dashing and dapper Manoj Bajpayee takes centre stage on the cover of the latest issue of ‘Society Achievers’ as he dives deep into his journey in Bollywood. The award-winning actor joined media magnate Nari Hira; Ashok Dhamankar of Magnate Publishing; and Andrea CostaBir, ‘Editor’, ‘Society Achievers’ to unveil the cover in the presence of the media at the fabulous Invincible at C’est la Vie, Mumbai.

Hon CM Eknath Shinde Presides Over Mukkti Foundation Women’s Day Event Lauds Smita Thackeray For Her Tireless Social Contribution

Smita Thackeray’s Mukkti Foundation that has been working relentlessly in areas of drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, women and child welfare as well as art and culture for the last 25 years, organized a Women’s Day celebration honouring women from various fields with Mukkti Veer Nari Awards and Mukkti Women Achiever Awards for Excellence in Social Impact.
“At Mukkti, we believe that women empower women, hence we have women who have succeeded in various fields to award other successful people. It is very important to hold hands to progress,” says Smita Thackeray.

“We have still a long way to go, as majority of women in India suffer from lack of education, malnutrition, domestic violence, child marriage, child labour, female foeticide, dowry, gender discrimination at home and at workplaces among many others. Hence, the need for Women Empowerment is of utmost importance.”

Hon Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in his address, lauded Smita Thackeray and Mukkti Foundation, adding that he will always be there for his sisters and will support Mukkti in its endeavours.
The awards were interspersed with cultural programs including folk and light music, kathak and a feisty Lavani among others.

Nanak Sandhu is gearing up to make his mark in the industry. In the film Bhai Ji Kuttange, he made his debut alongside Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu. Smeep Kang , the versatile punjabi film industry director, directed the big-budget action comedy. The film was a worldwide success and is accessible on Zee5.

In addition to acting and modelling, Nanak is a professional dancer, gymnast, and martial artist. He has also competed at the state level football.Yaaran PDiyan Poun Baaran, the second film, is about to be released.
